Fantasy NBA DraftKings DFS Values (Jan. 28th)

Q: When is it a bad idea to pay up for Anthony Davis?
A: Never.

The Unibrow has scored at least 52 fantasy points in six of his past eight games including 64.5 points in his last game against the Sixers on Monday. During that eight-game span, Davis has averaged 28.88 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.75 steals per game.

With a matchup against the Nuggets, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards, it's going to be risky to fade Davis ($11,000), who is priced higher than all players not named James Harden ($11,100).

To make matters more interesting, however, power forward has as much value as any other position tonight.

With that said, here are some DraftKings values ($6,500 salary or less) for Wednesday's NBA games:

PG - Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets (at ATL), $6,000: With Deron Williams out again, Jack should see 34-plus minutes and he has scored at least 34.5 fantasy points in four of his past five games. Over that five-game span, Jack has scored 17.4 points with 6.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. The Hawks are one of the best defensive teams in the league, but they have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - D.J. Augustin, Detroit Pistons (at PHI), $5,800: In his second start following the season-ending injury to Brandon Jennings, Augustin followed up his 53.5-point performance with 40.5 fantasy points. Augustin had 19 points, nine assists, four rebounds and two steals against the Cavs in 36 minutes last night. While we shouldn't expect 40-plus points from him on a nightly basis, Augustin has a favorable matchup against the Sixers, who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Take advantage of his depressed price tag while you can.

PG - Langston Galloway, New York Knicks (vs. OKC), $4,300: Signed for the rest of the season after back-to-back 10-day contracts, Galloway has been one of the bright spots for the Knicks. In his past four games, he has averaged 32 minutes and nearly 30 fantasy points (29.69) per game.

PG - Brian Roberts, Charlotte Bobcats (at SA), $4,200: With Kemba Walker scheduled to have knee surgery on Wednesday, Roberts will run the point for the foreseeable future, but the best thing about him is his price. On the season, he is averaging only 0.66 fantasy points per minute, but the uptick in minutes due to his role should allow him to reach value.

[Update: Mo Williams has been ruled out for personal reasons, which means Zach LaVine gets the start with a $3,000 price tag and should see 30-plus minutes.  As I noted in my FanDuel values post, LaVine has played 30-plus minutes in 11 games.  In those games, he has scored at least 20 fantasy points 10 times and averaged 26.8 per game.]


SG - DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors (vs. SAC), $6,500: DeRozan continues to shake the rust off as he has scored at least 24 (real) points and 36.5 fantasy points in back-to-back games. The good times should continue to roll for DeRozan as the Kings have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season.

SG - Wesley Matthews, Portland Trail Blazers (at CLE), $6,100: Matthews has been really productive over his past five games. During that stretch, he has scored at least 28.75 fantasy points and averaged 32.25 per game. Averaging four three-pointers over that stretch, Matthews has averaged 20.2 points and 1.6 steals per game.

SG - Kyle Korver, Atlanta Hawks (vs. BKN), $4,800: Priced at 5.31 times his full-season production (25.5 fantasy points per game), Korver is a deadly outside shooter (and occasional high riser). Given the inconsistent nature of his game log, however, Korver is a better suited as a tournament play.

SG - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Detroit Pistons (at PHI), $4,100: Of the shooting guards in action tonight that average at least 23 minutes per game, only Ben McLemore (0.54) averages fewer fantasy points per minute than Caldwell-Pope (0.59). That said, KCP gets nearly 32 minutes per game and a favorable matchup tonight against the Sixers, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to the position.

SF - Wilson Chandler, Denver Nuggets (at NO), $6,000: Chandler has now scored 38-plus fantasy points in back-to-back games and at least 33 fantasy points in three consecutive games. And Wilson had just shy of 33 fantasy points (32.8) the first time he played the Pelicans this season. The Pelicans have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards.

SF - Paul Pierce, Washington Wizards (at PHO), $4,700: Pierce (toe) sat out last night's game against the Lakers, but if he plays against the Suns tonight, he is one of my favorite values at small forward. Pierce has played at least 30 minutes and scored a minimum of 28.75 fantasy points in each of his past three games played. Meanwhile, the Suns have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards. Since this game has a 10:30 start, we may not know his status prior to 7 PM, but you can pivot to P.J. Tucker ($4,100), if necessary, thanks to DraftKings' late-swap feature.

PF - Thaddeus Young, Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. BOS), $6,400: Over his past seven games, Young has scored at least 30 fantasy points six times and has averaged 35.82 fantasy points per game. During that span, he's averaging 18.57 points, 6.14 rebounds, 4.71 assists and 1.43 steals per game.  In addition, he has played over 40 minutes in back-to-back games.

PF - Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks (at HOU), $6,400: Last night, Nowitzki had a 17-game low in fantasy points (25.25). While his ceiling isn't what it once was, Nowitzki has a 25-point floor and needs 32 fantasy points to reach 5x value. During that 17-game span, he has averaged 31.38 fantasy points per game.

PF - Brandon Bass, Boston Celtics (at MIN), $4,900: Even as his price creeps up, Bass remains a solid value option at the position. Bass has scored a minimum of 22 fantasy points in six consecutive games and the T'Wolves have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season.

PF - Jason Smith, New York Knicks (vs. OKC), $3,900: Playing at least 32 minutes in four consecutive games, Smith has scored more than 25 fantasy points in three of those four games. With Amar'e Stoudemire dealing with some injuries (ankle and wrist) and expected to miss some time, Smith should continue to see big minutes despite his sub-$4,000 price tag.

C - Marcin Gortat, Washington Wizards (at PHO), $5,500: Gortat's production has underwhelmed recently and he's been a bit inconsistent as well -- less than 20 fantasy points in five of his past 16 games. That said, he has averaged more than 25 fantasy points per game over his past 12 games and I think he has an excellent shot to reach 5x his value tonight. Moreover, I'm not crazy about many of the other low-priced center options tonight.

C - Nikola Pekovic, Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. BOS), $4,900: Pekovic has now played 30-plus minutes in back-to-back games although he has averaged roughly 20 fantasy points in those two games. Pek gets a more favorable matchup tonight against the Celtics, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.

[Note: Al Jefferson is priced slightly higher than my cutoff at $6,700, but he's going to start tonight and is probably my favorite play at center tonight.]

Fantasy NBA DraftKings DFS Values (Jan. 22nd)

To fit higher-priced studs into your DFS lineups, it's important to identify lower-priced options to provide some salary-cap relief.

In our DraftKings value posts, we will highlight players with salaries of $6,500 or less. The average salary of their $50,000 cap is $6,250 so the vast majority of the players referenced below are priced below the average salary.

With that said, here are some DraftKings values for Thursday's NBA games:

PG - Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs (at CHI), $5,800: Against the Nuggets on Tuesday, Parker had 18 points, seven assists and four rebounds to score 33.5 fantasy points. He now has 33 fantasy points in two of his past three games. The Spurs are projected to score the third-most points tonight behind the Clippers and Blazers, but their matchup has the lowest point spread (-5) of the night so hopefully the game stays close and Parker sees a full allotment of minutes.

PG - Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets (at LAC), $6,200: The matchup against Chris Paul is far from favorable as the Clippers allow the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing point guards. In his past three games, Jack has scored 49.5, 38.5 and 35.5 fantasy points, respectively, and he's averaging 21.3 points, 7.7 assists and 1.7 steals during that span. In addition, Jack has averaged more than 37 minutes per game over his past nine games and Deron Williams (ribs) will miss tonight's game.

SG - Wesley Matthews, Portland Trail Blazers (vs. BOS), $5,700: With LaMarcus Aldridge (and Robin Lopez) out, Matthews will continue to shoulder more of the offensive load. Matthews now has 17-plus shot attempts in each of his past three games and has averaged 33.42 fantasy points per game during that stretch. That said, Avery Bradley is one of the league's best on-ball defenders, but it's possible he guards Damian Lillard instead of Matthews.

SG - Joe Johnson, Brooklyn Nets (at LAC), $6,000: Averaging more than 38 points per game over his past 12 games, Johnson broke out of a six-game slump (23.75 FPPG) with 31.75 and 34.5 fantasy points in his two most recent games. In his past 21 games, Johnson has as many games (two) with 40-plus fantasy points as he has with less than 20 fantasy points (two) and has averaged slightly more than 30 fantasy points during that span.

SG - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks (vs. UTA), $5,200: The Alphabet has played 32 minutes in back-to-back games with 25 fantasy points in each game. Given Jason Kidd's rotations and allotment of minutes, it's hard to trust any Buck not named Brandon Knight to get consistent minutes. But he should be able to reach 5x value if he gets 32 minutes once again and he has 40-point upside considering his stat-stuffing nature of his game. If you play The Greek Freak, however, I'd stick with GPPs over cash games.

SF - Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers (vs. BOS), $5,300: Breaking out of his slump, Batum scored a season-most 52.5 fantasy points last night after scoring no more than 38.5 in his first 36 games this season. In fact, he had just 67.25 fantasy points in his past four games combined. Knocking down six of eight three-pointers last night, Batum scored 27 points and added 10 rebounds, five assists and a block. It would be unrealistic to expect a repeat performance, but the injury to LMA should continue to lead to increased offensive opportunities for Batum, who does a lot more than just score.

SF - Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks (vs. UTA), $5,100: Over his past nine games, Middleton has scored a minimum of 21 fantasy points and averaged 27.42 per game. Before that, however, he had a couple of games with seven or less fantasy points in a six-game stretch. That said, Middleton has averaged 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals over that nine-game stretch. Until Kidd pulls the rug from under us, Middleton appears safe.

SF - Dorell Wright, Portland Trail Blazers (vs. BOS), $3,000: Getting the start in place of Aldridge at power forward, Wright is a minimum-salary option at SF. Wright played (and fouled out in) nearly 35 minutes and finished with 30.75 fantasy points. Wright scored 15 points and added five assists, three rebounds and two steals and was three-of-six from behind the arc. Like with Batum, I wouldn't expect a repeat of last night's production, but he's certainly a viable punt option.

PF - Taj Gibson, Chicago Bulls (vs. SA), $6,100: With Joakim Noah listed as doubtful for tonight's game, Gibson should once again get a heavy dose of minutes as is typical when Noah or Pau Gasol is out. Averaging close to 40 minutes in his past three games, Gibson has averaged 10.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game during that span.

PF - Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee Bucks (vs. UTA), $3,700: After playing 12 and 22 minutes in his first two games of the month, Ilyasova is expected to move into the starting lineup for tonight's game. In the past eight games that the oft-injured Ilyasova has played 20-plus minutes, he has scored a minimum of 21.75 fantasy points and averaged 26.78 fantasy points. At his price point, he should easily reach value given starter's minutes.

C - Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets (at LAC), $6,400: Over his past three games, Lopez has averaged 35.5 fantasy points as well as 21.0 (real) points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 steal per game. In addition, Lopez has been getting to the line with 7.0 made free throws per game over that stretch. Meanwhile, the Clippers have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.

C - Enes Kanter, Utah Jazz (at MIL), $5,900: Starting and playing 33 minutes, Kanter had a monster 24/17 double-double last night and finished a fraction shy of 50 fantasy points. Meanwhile, Rudy Gobert played less than 20 minutes. With starter's minutes, Kanter should be able to reach value tonight.

Fantasy NBA FanDuel DFS Values (Jan. 21)

Earlier today, I posted my favorite DraftKings value plays for tonight's NBA games.

As I turn my attention to FanDuel contests, there will obviously be plenty of overlap in terms of the value plays I like. Even though DraftKings and FanDuel price players independently, their price points are generally in the same ball park.

The players listed in this post will have a maximum salary of $7,000, which is slightly above the average $6,667 salary on FanDuel's nine-men rosters.

Here are some FanDuel values for Wednesday's NBA games:

PG - Elfrid Payton, Orlando Magic (at DET), $5,900: Payton has scored 30-plus fantasy points in three of the past four games with an average of 35 fantasy points per game over that span. Over his past four games, he is averaging 16.5 points, 7.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. In those four games, Payton has double-digit points plus a minimum of four rebounds, four assists and two steals in each of those games.

PG - Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets (at SAC), $6,800: With Deron Williams out for tonight's game, Jack remains a strong option among the mid-priced point guards. In his past eight games, Jack is averaging 29.76 fantasy points per game with 36-plus in half of those games including back-to-back games against the Wizards. During that eight-game span, Jack has averaged 15.63 points, 7.38 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.13 three-pointers in nearly 37 minutes per game. Meanwhile, the Kings have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Mo Williams, Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. DAL), $6,100: Williams is coming off a disappointing performance (18 fantasy points in 29 minutes), but he had at least 25 fantasy points in the previous seven games with 42-plus points in three of them. Even though Kevin Martin is considered a game-time decision, the good news is that Ricky Rubio has been ruled out for tonight's game. This game has the second-highest over/under behind the Warriors-Rockets matchup and Williams price on FanDuel is actually $100 less than his salary on DraftKings even though the average salary per player in FanDuel is higher than it is on DraftKings ($6,250).


* FanDuel's $300K NBA Super Slam: $300,000 in prizes including $30,000 to 1st in tonight's NBA Super Slam ($25 entry).

SG - Wesley Matthews, Portland Trail Blazers (at PHO), $5,700: Matthews' minutes won't directly benefit from the injury to LaMarcus Aldridge, but his usage rate and shot attempts will. With Aldridge playing only 14 minutes before his injury on Monday, Matthews took a season-high 20 shot attempts including 12 three-point attempts. Dollar for dollar, Matthews is my favorite play among SGs tonight.

SG - Eric Gordon, New Orleans Pelicans (vs. LAL), $5,100: If Jrue Holiday (ankle) misses another game, that would benefit Gordon. Since returning from his own injury on Jan. 5th, Gordon has played 33-plus minutes in seven of eight games. In his past seven games, Gordon has scored a minimum of 22.5 fantasy points and he's averaged 27.57 per game over that span. Gordon has a solid floor, but his relatively low ceiling makes him a better play in cash games than tournaments.

SF - Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers (at PHO), $5,300: Things haven't gone so well for Batum (and his fantasy/DFS owners), but that has led to a more modest price tag. Although he has failed to reach 20 fantasy points in four consecutive games, Batum could shoulder a little more of the load with Aldridge out. In addition, the Suns play at the third-fastest pace and rank fifth in most turnovers per game (15.3) and Batum is less of a scorer and more of a player that contributes across multiple stat categories. And like Williams, Batum has a slightly lower salary on FanDuel than DraftKings, which makes him an even more appealing option on FanDuel.

SF - Jeff Green, Memphis Grizzlies (vs. TOR), $5,600: Excluding his debut with the Grizzlies, Green has scored 26.5-30 fantasy points with at least 30 minutes in his other three games with his new team. During that three-game span, he has at least 14 shot attempts each night and has posted an average of 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and a steal per game. The Raptors have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season.

PF - Nerlens Noel, Philadelphia 76ers (vs. NYK), $5,800: While he may lack some consistency, Noel has been getting consistent playing time with 30-plus minutes in six of his past seven games. Over his past four games, Noel has averaged 11.75 points, 8.25 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.25 blocks per game. Noel has scored at least 31.1 fantasy points in three of his past four games.

[Update: Noel (sick) has been ruled out for tonight's game.]

PF - Donatas Motiejunas, Houston Rockets (at GS), $5,600: In a game with a 218.0 over/under, there should be plenty of fantasy points tonight. Motiejunas has now scored double-digit (real) points in 12 consecutive games and has now scored at least 23 fantasy points in seven consecutive games. Against the Warriors on Jan. 17th, Motiejunas scored 28.4 fantasy points in less than 22 minutes, a 12-game low in minutes. Over the past 12 games, he has averaged nearly 30 minutes per game.

PF - Channing Frye, Orlando Magic (at DET), $4,300: This play is contingent upon the status of Tobias Harris, who is considered a game-time decision for tonight's game. If Harris can't go, Frye should continue to benefit. In the five-game stretch that Harris has missed, Frye has averaged nearly 36 minutes and 25.44 fantasy points per game. Frye's shooting percentage (15-of-51, 29.4 percent) during that stretch has been awful, but he still has a minimum of 20.1 fantasy points in those games despite poor shooting. In addition, Frye's price on FanDuel is $700 than his DraftKings price.

[Update: Harris will play, but he may come off the bench.]

C - Alex Len, Phoenix Suns (vs. POR), $5,200: With injuries to Robin Lopez and LMA, Len gets a favorable matchup against a Blazers' front court that lacks depth. Len is coming off his worst performance (20.2 fantasy points in 19 minutes) over his past seven games, but he had an average of 28.68 in his previous six games.

C - Chris Kaman, Portland Trail Blazers (at PHO), $4,400: Kaman had just 12 fantasy points in 19 minutes on MLK Jr. Day and only 18 points on the 16th against the Spurs. With the injuries in the Blazers' front court, however, Kaman should see close to 30 minutes tonight and he has averaged close to one FanDuel point per minute this season.

Fantasy NBA DraftKings DFS Values (Jan. 21st)

In order to fit studs like DeMarcus Cousins ($11,100), Kevin Durant ($10,700) or LeBron James ($10,700) into our DraftKings lineups tonight, finding values at other roster spots is imperative.

Like most Wednesdays, it's another large slate (12 games) today, which increases the odds of finding value at other spots.

For this post, I will focus on players with a salary of $6,500 or less to highlight the mid- and low-priced players that I like for tonight's games.

With that said, here are some DraftKings values for Wednesday's NBA games:

PG - Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets (at SAC), $6,300: With Deron Williams out, Jack remains a strong option among the mid-priced point guards. In his past eight games, Jack is averaging 32.19 fantasy points per game with 38.5 or more in half of those games including back-to-back games against the Wizards. During that eight-game span, Jack has averaged 15.63 points, 7.38 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.13 three-pointers in nearly 37 minutes per game. Meanwhile, the Kings have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Mo Williams, Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. DAL), $6,200: Williams is coming off a disappointing performance (18 fantasy points in 29 minutes), but he had at least 25 fantasy points in the previous seven games with 42-plus points in three of them. Assuming that Ricky Rubio misses at least one more game, Williams has plenty of upside in what should be a fast-paced game. Both teams rank in the top-third of the league in terms of pace. (That said, I'll like Williams a little less if Kevin Martin (GTD) suits up tonight although he may be on a minutes restriction if he does.)

PG - Trey Burke, Utah Jazz (at CLE), $5,600: Burke has scored at least 22.75 fantasy points in 11 consecutive games and has averaged 30.68 points over that span. Burke is averaging 16.9 points, 5.1 assists and a steal per game during that span and gets a great matchup against Kyrie Irving and the Cavs, who have surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Elfrid Payton, Orlando Magic (at DET), $5,400: Payton has now scored 40-plus fantasy points in back-to-back games and 30-plus fantasy points in four consecutive games. Arguably the best defender in last year's draft class, Payton has multiple steals in all four of those games, but he has surprisingly stepped up offensively with 22 and 19 points in his past two games, respectively. Over his past four games, he is averaging 16.5 points, 7.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.

PG - Langston Galloway, New York Knicks (at PHI), $3,600: With three opportunities to start a point guard on DraftKings (PG, G and UTIL spots), that's typically a strategy that I use most nights and will do so again tonight in many of my lineups. There are plenty of great mid-priced options, as mentioned above, but Galloway is a much cheaper option that is likely to draw another start and no team allows more fantasy points to opposing point guards than the 76ers. Galloway has averaged 21.75 fantasy points in his five games with the Knicks including a pair of 30-point fantasy outings.

With at least 22.5 fantasy points in five of those six games, he has averaged 28.58 fantasy points over that stretch. Meanwhile, Utah has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season.

PF - Donatas Motiejunas, Houston Rockets (at GS), $5,500: In a game with a 218.0 over/under, there should be plenty of fantasy points tonight. Motiejunas has now scored double-digit (real) points in 12 consecutive games and has now scored at least 24.75 fantasy points in seven consecutive games. Against the Warriors on Jan. 17th, Motiejunas scored 29.75 fantasy points in less than 22 minutes, a 12-game low in minutes. Over the past 12 games, he has averaged nearly 30 minutes per game.

PF - Nerlens Noel, Philadelphia 76ers (vs. NYK), $5,300: While he may lack some consistency, Noel has been getting consistent playing time with 30-plus minutes in six of his past seven games. Over his past four games, Noel has averaged 11.75 points, 8.25 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.25 blocks per game. Noel needs 31.8 fantasy points to reach six times his salary and he has scored 31.5 or more fantasy points in three of his past four games.

[Update: Noel (sick) has been ruled out for tonight's game.] 

PF - Channing Frye, Orlando Magic (at DET), $5,000: This play is contingent upon the status of Tobias Harris, who is considered a game-time decision for tonight's game. If Harris can't go, Frye should continue to benefit. In the five-game stretch that Harris has missed, Frye has averaged nearly 36 minutes and 27.95 fantasy points per game. Frye's shooting percentage (15-of-51, 29.4 percent) during that stretch has been awful, but 41 of his 51 attempts have been from behind the arc and he still has a minimum of 21.5 fantasy points in those games despite poor shooting.

[Update: Harris will play, but he may come off the bench.]

C - Tyson Chandler, Dallas Mavericks (at MIN), $6,300: Typically Chandler isn't someone that finds his way into my lineups, but he now has three consecutive double-doubles with at least 35 fantasy points. Meanwhile, the T'Wolves have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season so Chandler has an excellent shot at reaching value once again.

C - Alex Len, Phoenix Suns (vs. POR), $4,800: With injuries to Robin Lopez and LMA, Len gets a favorable matchup against a Blazers' front court that lacks depth. Len is coming off his worst performance (21 fantasy points in 19 minutes) over his past seven games, but he had a minimum of 26 fantasy points with an average of 30.54 in his previous six games.

C - Chris Kaman, Portland Trail Blazers (at PHO), $4,400: Kaman had just 12 fantasy points in 19 minutes on MLK Jr. Day, but he averaged 28 minutes and 26.31 fantasy points in his previous four games. With the injuries in the Blazers' front court, Kaman should see close to 30 minutes tonight and he has averaged 1.05 DK points per minute this season.

Daily Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Values for March 26th

If you play daily fantasy sports (and who doesn't these days?!), you know that one of the keys to success is uncovering undervalued players to allow you to load up on studs elsewhere.

In case you've never played daily fantasy basketball, every player has a salary and your roster cannot exceed the game's salary-cap maximum.

For FanDuel leagues, rosters consist of nine players and the salary cap is $60,000, which averages to roughly $6,667 per player. To give you an idea of the range for Wednesday's games, Timberwolves PF Kevin Love ($11,600) has the contest's highest salary while many are tied for the lowest at the game-minimum salary ($3,500).

There are a number of benefits compared to traditional full-season re-draft leagues, such as:

• you don't have to worry about being saddled by players sidelined by injury;
• having a late pick doesn't rule out owning studs like Kevin Durant or LeBron James;
• you get the instant gratification of winning your league(s) that night.

And you know that enthusiasm you have after drafting your fantasy team(s)? Well, you get to experience that feeling on a nightly basis with daily fantasy basketball.

OK, with the preliminary stuff out of the way, here are some value plays to consider for Tuesday (March 25th) FanDuel leagues:

PG - Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies (at UTA), $6,800: Conley has scored 31-plus fantasy points in three of his past four games and the off game was 28.8 vs. the Heat, who allow the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing point guards. During that four-game span, Conley is averaging 18.5 points, 5.75 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest. The Jazz have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Brandon Jennings, Detroit Pistons (vs. CLE), $6,100: Jennings is tough to trust (example: 2.2 fantasy points in 14 minutes on Mar. 21st). That said, he has 40.9 and 25.2 fantasy points in his past two games and has averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 points in those two contests. The Cavs have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Darren Collison, Los Angeles Clippers (at NOP), $5,600: Even with Jamal Crawford back for two games, Collison has played 26 and 34 minutes and scored 20.5 and 28.4 fantasy points, respectively, in those two games. The Pelicans have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Mario Chalmers, Miami Heat (at IND), $5,100: While it's not necessarily a great matchup (from a fantasy perspective, that is), Chalmers has been playing well lately. Over his past four games, he has averaged 12.75 points, 6.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

PG - Jarrett Jack, Cleveland Cavaliers (at DET), $5,000: Jack has 31-plus fantasy points in three of his past five games, which coincides with the timeframe that Kyrie Irving has missed. During that span, Jack has averaged 16.6 points, 5.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds in over 38 minutes per game. Over the past 15 days, only the Lakers have allowed more fantasy points to opposing point guards.

SG - Dion Waiters, Cleveland Cavaliers (at DET), $6,000: With Irving out, Waiters has played in at least 40 minutes in five consecutive games. During that span, Waiters is averaging 37.32 fantasy points per game with a line of 23.8 points, 6.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game.

SG - Rodney Stuckey, Detroit Pistons (vs. CLE), $4,300: With the exception of Saturday's six-point performance, Stuckey has scored at least 18 (real) points and 21.9 fantasy points in four of his past five games.

SG - Tim Hardaway Jr., New York Knicks (at SAC), $3,700: Hardaway's fantasy output can be wildly inconsistent, but he scored 23.7 fantasy points against the Lakers last night and now has 20-something fantasy points in four of his past seven outings. Only the Lakers have allowed more fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season than the Lakers.

SF - Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs (vs. DEN), $6,700: My only concern with Leonard is the potential for Poppovich to severely limit Leonard's (or any of his player's) minutes. Other than that, the matchup is great — the Nuggets allow the sixth-most fantasy points to SFs — and Leonard has an all-around game. Over his past 10 games, he is averaging 14.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per outing.

SF - Luol Deng, Cleveland Cavaliers (at DET), $6,000: Deng went off last night with 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, a block and a steal, which was good for nearly 40 fantasy points (39.7 to be exact). The Pistons have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season.

SF - DeMarre Carroll, Atlanta Hawks (at MIN), $5,900: Carroll has scored at least 25 fantasy points in each of his past three games. During that three-game run, he has averaged 14.33 points, 5.0 rebounds and a whopping 3.33 steals per game. The T'Wolves have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this year.

SF - P.J. Tucker, Phoenix Suns (at WAS), $5,500: Tucker has an underrated game and he has scored 20.2, 26.6 and 31.2 fantasy points in his past three games. Over his past nine games, he has averaged 11.44 points, 7.22 rebounds and 2.22 steals per game. The Wizards have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to small forwards this season, but they have been more generous recently: fifth-most over the past 15 days.

PF - Amar'e Stoudemire, New York Knicks (at SAC), $5,400: Stoudemire scored 16 points last night, but he added just two rebounds, which is a seven-game low. Tonight's matchup isn't as favorable as last night's against the Lakers, but the Kings have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this year.

PF - Trevor Booker, Washington Wizards (vs. PHO), $4,100: Booker has been a steady contributor with more than 20 fantasy points in four consecutive games. He has scored in double figures in three of those games and has averaged 6.25 rebounds, 1.25 blocks and 1.25 steals per game over that stretch.

PF - Jonas Jerebko, Detroit Pistons (vs. CLE), $3,900: After a surprise 22-point, nine-rebound performance with two steals on Saturday, Jerebko had a more modest but reasonably productive outing against the Jazz with seven points, eight rebounds and a steal. He has played 24-plus minutes in each of his past two games.

PF - Drew Gooden, Washington Wizards (vs. PHO), $3,500: With a contest-minimum salary, Gooden has been productive even with modest minutes. Despite getting less than 20 minutes in each of his past two games, Gooden has extended his streak of games with 20-plus fantasy points to five games. The first three games of that span, Gooden had more than 30 fantasy points each game with 26-28 minutes per contest.

C - Tiago Splitter, San Antonio Spurs (vs. DEN), $5,400: Bigs facing the Nuggets always tend to do well as Denver has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season. That said, Splitter followed up a huge game (17 points, 14 rebounds, three assists) of 41.3 fantasy points with a DNP against the Sixers. I expect him to play tonight (and enough minutes to be productive), but guessing Poppovich's distribution of minutes is never an easy task.

C - Gorgui Dieng, Minnesota Timberwolves (vs. ATL), $5,100: If Nikola Pekovic misses another game, look for Dieng to continue his highly productive play. Dieng has four double-doubles (including a 20-20 game) over his past five games. During that stretch, he has averaged 12.2 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals per game.

C - Timofey Mozgov, Denver Nuggets (at SAS), $4,300: With J.J. Hickson (torn ACL) out for the season, Mozgov played a season-high 32:25 in his most recent game. Mozgov finished the game with 12 points, nine rebounds and a block for 23.3 fantasy points. The Spurs have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.

Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Advice for March 8th

In order to help you set your DraftStreet lineups in daily fantasy basketball leagues, Sean Beazley has a list of some players that he likes for Saturday's games:

Here are a few players I like tonight.

C – Marcin Gortat – Washington – $15,285

Gortat has a great matchup vs. the Bucks, against whom he has averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 boards in two games. I think Gortat is a lock for a double-double and should exploit the middle of this defense that ranks 28th in the NBA against fantasy centers. I’m expecting 40 fantasy points (FP) tonight.

F – Boris Diaw – San Antonio – $11,429

In his past four games, Diaw has averaged 28 FP, and almost 30 minutes per game. Diaw is now the starting center in San Antonio, and he is very efficient from the field knocking down 55 percent of his shots. Diaw is definitely a player I’m aiming to hit maximum value tonight.

F – Thaddeus Young – Philadelphia – $15,543

Thad is a boom-or-bust play. In his last outing vs. the Thunder, he had a tiny 7.5 FP. He was a lineup crusher for sure. I think he rebounds tonight against a Jazz team that has been in the bottom third in the league vs. PFs over the past 10 games. I’m hoping for a 40+ point night.

G – Dion Waiters – Cleveland – $9,710

New York has had a tough time defending opposing SGs this year, so Waiters has great value at less than 10K. He is averaging about 26.5 FP per game since coming back from injury, which means he is undervalued tonight. He is still coming off the bench for the Cavs, but played five more minutes than starter Jarrett Jack last night. Waiters is a must-play in all formats tonight.

PG - Aaron Brooks, Denver Nuggets (vs. POR), $3,600: If Ty Lawson (ribs) misses another game (although it's possible that he returns tonight), the recently-acquired Brooks is a quality low-priced option at the point in FanDuel leagues. Starting in only his second game with the Nuggets on Sunday, Brooks finished with nine points, eight assists, two rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes.

PG - Jarrett Jack, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers (vs. TOR), $3,800: Big minutes does not necessarily mean big production as we've seen with Jack in his past two games. Despite averaging nearly 40 minutes per game over his past two, Jack has barely averaged 15 fantasy points. That said, he should get plenty of minutes with Dion Waiters and C.J. Miles out again tonight. Feeling lucky?

PG - Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers (at DEN), $7,900 Five point guards have a higher salary than Lillard so he's not a bargain in absolute terms, but Lillard has scored 40-plus fantasy points in three consecutive games. Only the 76ers (111.0) and Lakers (105.9) allow more points per game than the Nuggets (104.7). [The Blazers allow the fourth-most points (103.6) in the NBA.]

SG - Evan Fournier, Denver Nuggets (vs. POR), $4,400: Like with Brooks above, Fournier could see expanded minutes especially if Lawson misses another game. Fournier has scored 40-plus fantasy points in two of his past four games. On Sunday, Fournier had 27 points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in 36 minutes off the bench.

SG - Kent Bazemore, Los Angeles Lakers (at IND), $3,600: In two games with the Lakers, Bazemore has scored 15-plus points and added two steals in at least 29 minutes in each game. Despite the tough matchup against the Pacers, Bazemore is a cheap option that should get roughly 30 minutes and 20 fantasy points.

SG - Ben McLemore, Sacramento Kings (vs. HOU), $3,600: With Marcus Thornton now in Brooklyn, McLemore moved into the starting lineup and played 36 minutes on Sunday. Even though he only scored six points, he added four boards and three steals. Going forward, I would expect better shooting performances from McLemore.

SF - Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers (at DEN), $6,200: While he isn't necessarily cheap as only four small forwards have a higher salary, Batum is coming off a monster game and could very well follow that up with another strong performance tonight. On Sunday, Batum had 22 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and a steal. Especially if LaMarcus Aldridge misses a fourth consecutive game tonight, the Blazers will need more production from Batum.

PF - Mike Scott, Atlanta Hawks (vs. CHI), $4,500: With Paul Millsap out tonight and tomorrow, Scott has an opportunity to continue his hot streak even though the Hawks have a tough matchup. In his past two games, Scott has scored a total of 50 points including a career-high 30 on Saturday against the Knicks.

PF - Thomas Robinson, Portland Trail Blazers (at DEN), $4,300: As noted with Batum, it's possible that Aldridge misses another game and if he does, Robinson will be a quality low-priced option at power forward. On Sunday, he posted a double-double (14 points, 18 rebounds) in 33 minutes while adding a couple of assists and blocks as well.

In the majority of my FanDuel leagues for tonight, I'll be starting Chicago's Joakim Noah at center. Although he's not cheap at $9,100, Noah has averaged 13.54 points, 13.08 rebounds, 5.96 assists, 1.92 blocks and 0.88 steals per game since January. In his past seven games, he has double-digit assists in three of them and even had a triple-double earlier this month.

C - Timofey Mozgov, Denver Nuggets (vs. POR), $3,900: If I were looking for an option (much) less expensive than Noah, Mozgov could be the guy. With Mozgov moving into the starting lineup on Tuesday, that hopefully means that he also gets starter's minutes as well. In the five games in which Mozgov has 30-plus minutes this season, he has averaged 12.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 0.8 steals per game.

Jarrett Jack, Cavs agree to 4-year deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers and point guard Jarrett Jack agreed to a four-year deal worth $25 million, according to Warriors beat writer Marcus Thompson.

With Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters as the team's starting backcourt, Jack provides some depth behind the duo and some insurance in the event one, especially Irving, misses time.

Missing double-digit games in each of his first two seasons as a pro, Irving has missed a total of 38 games in his first two seasons combined.

In 12 postseason games last year, Jack averaged 17.2 points, 4.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game in addition to shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 89.6 percent from the line.
