When one of the best players in the league leaves a game early with a knee injury (and especially when it's to a surgically-repaired knee), it's never good news.
That said, the Thunder got good news today about the knee of star point guard Russell Westbrook.
Per Royce Young of Daily Thunder, an MRI showed no additional damage other than a sprain and it's possible that he will play on Monday.
Continuing with their plan to manage Westbrook's minutes, however, his availability in back-to-backs won't change.
So, if he misses Monday's game, Young notes that will be part of the plan to manage his minutes as opposed to the injury. The Thunder host the Nuggets on Monday and head to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Tuesday.
In 37 games this season, Westbrook is averaging 21.2 points, 7.0 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
