Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Advice for March 4th

In order to help you set your DraftStreet lineups in daily fantasy basketball leagues, Sean Beazley has a list of some players that he likes for Tuesday's games:

Here are some early leans on some players for Tuesday's action:

Cleveland Big Men - Spencer Hawes $11,610 / Tristan Thompson $11,842

I'm not a huge fan of this matchup against the Spurs, but I do think both have a very good shot at making value on Tuesday. Both should be in double/double range with Anderson Varejao still a game or two away from returning.

David Lee F - Golden St. $14,509

This is another tough matchup vs. the Pacers, but Lee at 14.5 is downright larceny. Lee is one of the top PF in daily fantasy formats, especially on Draft Street where efficiency comes into play.

Tyreke Evans F - Hornets $12,601

I'm riding the Tyreke express until he fails me. Evans is one of those fill-the-stat-sheet guys that I like and he has a very juicy matchup against the Lakers.

Wesley Johnson F - Lakers $12,093

Johnson has been one of the best-kept secrets the past week or so in the DFS world. He has been as consistent as they come. New Orleans is in the bottom third in the NBA in defending opposing forwards.

Darren Collison G - Clippers $9,660 / Matt Barnes F - Clippers $9,511

Jamal Crawford is likely out for Tuesday's game vs. the Suns, which should mean extra minutes for Collison, and Barnes. I like the value on each player and will be playing them in a couple GPP's and cash games.

Caron Butler F - Thunder $8,865

Butler could be moved into the starting lineup with Thabo Sefolosha being sidelined with an injury. This is a very intriguing game. I'd almost want to stay away from the Big 3 (Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka) of the Thunder because you could see all three of them on the bench the entire 4th quarter. Butler could be a sneaky value start.

Tony Parker G - Spurs $13,495

Parker is very undervalued in this game vs. the Cavs. We all know about Kyrie Irving's problems on the defensive end. I think Parker has a field day against the All-Star MVP. Parker is one of my must plays in all formats.

LeBron James scores career-high 61 points on Monday

This just in: LeBron James is good.

Of course, he's more than just "good," but King James scored a career-high (and franchise-record) 61 points against the Bobcats on Monday night.

Coincidentally, the Bobcats have allowed both games this season where a player has scored 60-plus points.  New York's Carmelo Anthony scored 62 against them in January.

While James took 33 shots, he was incredibly efficient as he converted on 22 of them.  In addition, he connected on eight of his 10 three-point attempts.

In addition to scoring 61, LeBron added seven rebounds and five assists.  (If you remember, Melo had no assists in his 62-point game.)

It was the 10th time that James has scored at least 50 points in a game, but it was only the second time that he has done so as a member of the Miami Heat.

On the season, James is averaging 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game and is shooting 58.3 percent from the field.

Consensus NBA Power Rankings, Week 19

In a tanking success story, the Philadelphia 76ers bring a league-worse 14-game losing streak into Week 19 of the NBA season.

Considering they will face Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Thunder in their next matchup, it almost certainly means their losing streak will be extended to (at least) 15 games.

That would put them only five games behind their worst-ever losing streak of 20 games set back in 1973.

After they play the Thunder on Tuesday, the Sixers face three teams with losing records: Jazz (21-38), Knicks (21-39)and Kings (20-39).

If they lose those three games and extend their losing streak to 18, however, it's going to be an uphill battle to avoid setting a new franchise-record losing streak as they will face the Pacers twice as well as the Grizzlies.

While there hasn't been much to celebrate except for the possibility of Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker coming to town in June (see my mock draft here), the team and their fans got a chance to celebrate Allen Iverson recently.

The Sixers retired AI's No. 3 on Friday night:



As a Sixers fan, my favorite Iverson moment (or moments, plural, since it was a game) was Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals when AI and the Sixers upset Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. (Unfortunately, the Sixers got swept from there, but they were the only team to beat the Lakers during that postseason run.)

Perhaps, they needed a little more practice:



Pound for pound, Iverson was one of the toughest, most electric players to ever play the game.

While his critics will argue that he never met a shot he didn't like, Iverson ranks 26th on the all-time scoring list, but he is seventh all-time in points per game (26.66). The only players with more points per game than AI are Michael Jordan (30.12), Wilt Chamberlain (30.07), LeBron James (27.51), Elgin Baylor (27.36), Kevin Durant (27.15) and Jerry West (27.03).

In addition, Iverson is tied with John Stockton for eighth all-time in steals per game (2.17).

Daily Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Values for March 3rd

If you play daily fantasy sports (and who doesn't these days?!), you know that one of the keys to success is uncovering undervalued players to allow you to load up on studs elsewhere.

In case you've never played daily fantasy basketball, every player has a salary and your roster cannot exceed the game's salary-cap maximum.

For FanDuel leagues, rosters consist of nine players and the salary cap is $60,000, which averages to roughly $6,667 per player. To give you an idea of the range for Monday's games, Timberwolves PF Kevin Love ($11,600) has the contest's highest salary while many are tied for the lowest at the game-minimum salary ($3,500).

There are a number of benefits compared to traditional full-season re-draft leagues, such as:

• you don't have to worry about being saddled by players sidelined by injury;
• having a late pick doesn't rule out owning studs like Kevin Durant or LeBron James;
• you get the instant gratification of winning your league(s) that night.

And you know that enthusiasm you have after drafting your fantasy team(s)? Well, you get to experience that feeling on a nightly basis with daily fantasy basketball.

OK, with the preliminary stuff out of the way, here are some value plays to consider for Monday (March 3rd) FanDuel leagues:

PG - Jordan Farmar, Los Angeles Lakers (at POR), $5,300: Despite backing up point guard Kendall Marshall ($6,300), Farmar played more minutes and scored more fantasy points than Marshall on Friday. In 29 minutes, Farmar scored a career-high 30 points while adding seven assists and a steal. On Monday, the Lakers will play the Blazers, who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing point guards over the past 15 days.

PG - Will Bynum, Detroit Pistons (vs. NYK), $4,600: Bynum has scored 25-plus fantasy points in three of his four games. The Knicks have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards over the past 15 days.

SG - Tyreke Evans, New Orleans Pelicans (at SAC), $5,400: Against the Clippers on Saturday, Evans scored 22 points and added nine rebounds, five assists and a steal in 40 minutes. Assuming Evans continues to get big minutes, he could really stick it to his former team on Monday. No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over the past 15 days than the Kings (51.60 FPA).

SG - Kent Bazemore, Los Angeles Lakers (at POR), $4,400: In five games since being acquired by the Lakers, Bazemore has played at least 27 minutes in every game and scored 26-plus fantasy points in three of those five outings. Against the Kings on Friday, Bazemore scored 12 points and added six boards, two blocks and two steals. Portland ranks 25th in scoring defense (102.9 PPG allowed).

SG - Marcus Thornton, Brooklyn Nets (vs. CHI), $3,500: Against the Bucks on Saturday, Thornton did not do much except score. In 24 minutes, Thornton scored 25 points and added two rebounds. Nada más. While he doesn't have a favorable matchup against the league's second-best scoring defense, Thornton should score enough to exceed his contest-minimum salary.

SF - Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers (vs. LAL), $6,900: Only slightly more expensive than the average salary of contest starters, Batum has scored 30-plus fantasy points in four consecutive games. During that four-game stretch, he has averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 boards, 4.75 assists, 1.25 blocks and 1.0 steals. Not only has he been extremely productive recently, but no team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing small forwards than the Lakers over the past 15 days.

SF - Mike Dunleavy, Chicago Bulls (at BKN), $5,200: Once again, Dunleavy had another solid outing as the Bulls blew out the Knicks on Sunday. Dunleavy has averaged 30.85 fantasy points with a minimum of 24.9 over his past four games.

SF - Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks (vs. UTA), $4,800: Middleton has scored 30.9 and 28.3 fantasy points in his previous two outings and the good times should continue to roll for Middleton with Caron Butler in Oklahoma City.

PF - Derrick Favors, Utah Jazz (at MIL), $6,600: Since returning from injury, Favors had his most productive outing on Sunday with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal. Favors has a more favorable matchup on Monday as the Bucks have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season.

PF - Andray Blatche, Brooklyn Nets (vs. CHI), $5,100: Against the Bucks on Saturday, Blatche went off for 45.6 fantasy points. Playing 30 minutes, Blatche posted a double-double (19 points, 13 boards) and added two assists, a block and three steals. Although he played only 18 minutes in his previous game, Blatche missed a double-double by one point and one rebound and added four steals to score 29.3 fantasy points. In most of my FanDuel leagues, I'll start Love and Favors at PF but Blatche is worth consideration with more than 1.56 fantasy points per minute played over his past two games.

C - Alexis Ajinca, New Orleans Pelicans (at SAC), $4,200: For the second time in four games, Ajinca posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Clips on Saturday. In three of those four games, Ajinca scored more than 29 fantasy points.

Bulls center Joakim Noah gets another triple-double

Coming off a relatively quiet performance against the Mavs on Friday, Chicago's Joakim Noah bounced back with a triple-double against the Knicks.

Noah finished the game with 13 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 14 assists, but he also added two blocks and two steals as the Bulls extended their winning streak to four games. (The Knicks have now lost six games in a row.)

Not only is it uncommon for a center to get a triple-double, but this was Noah's second triple-double in his past nine games. Of the 18 players with at least one triple-double this season, Noah is the only center.

In addition, Noah now has double-digit assists in four of his past 11 games.

To state it differently, Noah has as many games with double-digit assists (four) as the rest of the Bulls team combined this season. The others are D.J. Augustin (two), Kirk Hinrich (one) and Luol Deng (one), who is now in Cleveland.

Over his past 12 games, Noah has averaged 13.92 points, 12.17 rebounds, 6.92 assists, 1.83 blocks and 1.00 steals per game.

Only Indiana's Lance Stephenson (four) and Golden State's Stephen Curry (three) have more triple-doubles than Noah this season. Portland's Nicolas Batum and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant also have two of them.

Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Advice for March 2nd

Earlier today, I posted some players that I thought were excellent values in both FanDuel and DraftKings leagues.

With time still allowing you participate in "late" games in both formats, here are the links to both of my posts:

Once again, Sean Beazley has some advice for those participating in DraftStreet leagues. Using a slightly different format today, Sean compares two players at each position with similar salaries:

Guards: Lance Stephenson, Pacers ($13,535) vs. Jameer Nelson, Magic ($13,619)

Nelson gets another lick-chopping matchup against the 76ers, who he just dominated a few days ago with 39 FPs. As much as I like this matchup for Nelson, I am staying away from him tonight. Nelson's price has been bumped for this one, and for Nelson to hit value he would need roughly 35 FP.

Stephenson is more consistent, and even if he doesn't hit 35 FP, he should be somewhat close. Stephenson also fills out the stat sheet as well. He averages over seven boards per game, and shoots over 50% from the field, where as Nelson is only at 39%.

Play - Stephenson

Centers: Nikola Vucevic, Magic ($17,484) vs. Al Jefferson, Bobcats ($16,114)

Vukevic has been one of the top DFS centers since he has come back from injury, and he has seen his price skyrocket. He has a juicy matchup against the 76ers as well today, but 44 FP might be stretching his limit, just a bit. Vukevic should have no problem getting a double-double, but I think he will be about 10 points overvalued today. I'll pass.

On the other hand, Jefferson has a very good matchup today against OKC. Jefferson has cooled off a bit only scoring 36 FP combined in his last two games. Jefferson only needs to hit around 40 FP today for value, and I think he does more than that. Jefferson is a start in all formats today for me.

Play - Jefferson

Forwards: Elton Brand, Hawks ($12,072) vs. Markieff Morris, Suns ($12,562)

Brand gets at least one more game without Paul Millsap in the lineup to wreak havoc down low. That being said, Brand's salary has risen by over $2,000 in the past few days. He is no longer the value play at $9,500 where he only needs to get 23 FP. He is bumped up to $12,000 where he will need 30 FP to hit value. Brand even with the salary increase is worth a shot today.

Morris comes off the bench, but he plays starter minutes basically. Atlanta struggles against opposing PFs so I expect Morris to be a guy who has a great shot to have a big night that won't cost you that much.

PG/SG - Victor Oladipo, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $6,900: With eligibility at either guard spot in DraftKings leagues, Oladipo is only the 10th-highest priced point guard-eligible player. Despite an off game against the Heat last night, Oladipo racked up 40.25 fantasy points against the Sixers on Wednesday with 17 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.

PG - Jose Calderon, Dallas Mavericks (at SAS), $5,600: Over his past five games, Calderon has averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. Although Tony Parker is expected back today, the Spurs have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.

PG - Tony Wroten, Philadelphia 76ers (at ORL), $4,700: Wroten has gone to the free-throw line at least nine times in three of his past four games. During that four-game stretch, Wroten has scored 18.5 points and averaged 28.0 fantasy points per game in DraftKings formats.

PG/SG - Reggie Jackson, Oklahoma City Thunder (vs. CHA), $5,100: With Thabo Sefalosha (calf) out on Sunday, Jackson should see an uptick in minutes. Sefalosha left Friday's game early and Jackson played 34 minutes. Especially so in FanDuel leagues, where his salary ($7,400) is $900 less than what it is in DraftKings' contests ($8,300), I really like Russell Westbrook today. That said, I could see the potential of Westbrook playing less than his normal amount of minutes in what could turn out to be a blowout against the Bobcats as well. Based on odds from Sportsbook.com, the Thunder are nearly double-digit favorites over the Bobcats.

SG/SF - Mike Dunleavy, Chicago Bulls (vs. NYK), $5,300: Over his past three games, Dunleavy has averaged 35.8 fantasy points per game. During that stretch, he has averaged 17.67 points, 6.67 boards, 3.67 assists and 1.0 steal per game.

SG/SF - Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs (vs. DAL), $5,200: Especially due to his defensive stats, Leonard has had two productive outings in a row since missing 14 straight games. With 36.0 and 33.0 fantasy points against the Pistons and Bobcats, respectively, Leonard had a total of five steals and four blocks in those two games in addition to 27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists.

SG/SF - James Anderson, Philadelphia 76ers (at ORL), $4,400: Only five teams have allowed more fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season than the Magic. Anderson has at least 25 fantasy points in two of his past three games.

SF - Maurice Harkless, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $3,600: With 30-something minutes per night over his past three outings, Harkless has been relatively productive with a minimum of 23.75 fantasy points during that stretch. With the 76ers coming to town today, Harkless may improve upon those numbers (although that low of 23.75 fantasy points was against Philly on Wednesday).

SF/PF - DeMarre Carroll, Atlanta Hawks (at PHO), $5,100: In his past three games, Carroll has played 34-plus minutes per game and has knocked down nine of 18 three-point attempts. Carroll has 37-plus fantasy points in two of those three games.

PF/C - Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $7,800: Vucevic played only 23 minutes last night, but he finished with his third consecutive double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds). During that span, he has averaged 43.08 fantasy points per game that included 49.75 against the Sixers on Wednesday. Vucevic has now scored at least 33 fantasy points in eight of his past nine games.

PF/C - Elton Brand, Atlanta Hawks (at PHO), $5,200: With Paul Millsap out again on Sunday, the good times may continue to roll for Brand. Brand has at least 34.25 fantasy points in back-to-back games and he has averaged 8.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.5 blocks and 1.5 steals in those two games.

PF/C - Kyle O'Quinn, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $4,100: Despite playing only 22 minutes last night, O'Quinn also had a double-double (14 points, 15 rebounds) against the Heat. In fact, he hasn't played more than 24 minutes in any of his past four games, but he has scored 24-plus fantasy points in three of those games. In his past four games, he is averaging 9.0 points, 8.25 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.25 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.

In those two outings, he has scored at least 37.4 fantasy points and today he has an extremely favorable matchup. Only the Trail Blazers have allowed more fantasy points to opposing point guards than the Bobcats over the past 15 days.

PG - Jeff Teague, Atlanta Hawks (at PHO), $6,000: With Paul Millsap (knee) out for at least one more game, Teague should continue to be aggressive on the offensive end. In his past three games, he has scored at least 26 points (and 33.6 fantasy points) in each game.

PG - Jameer Nelson, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $5,900: Against the Sixers on Feb. 26th, Nelson, who played his college ball in Philly, had 43.2 fantasy points as he posted a double-double (16 points and 12 assists) and added six rebounds. Will it be deja vu all over again?

SG - Manu Ginobili, San Antonio Spurs (vs. DAL), $4,500: In his past two games, Ginobili has averaged 15.5 points, 7.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. Even though the Mavs have been second-best in limiting fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over the past 15 days, Ginobili is a virtual lock for 25'ish points at the relatively modest cost of $4,500.

SG - James Anderson, Philadelphia 76ers (at ORL), $4,400: Only five teams have allowed more fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season than the Magic. Anderson has more than 20 fantasy points in two of his past three games.

SF - Mike Dunleavy, Chicago Bulls (vs. NYK), $5,300: Over his past three games, Dunleavy has averaged 32.8 fantasy points per game. During that stretch, he has averaged 17.67 points, 6.67 boards, 3.67 assists and 1.0 steal per game.

SF - Maurice Harkless, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $4,400: With 30-something minutes per night over his past three outings, Harkless has been relatively productive with a minimum of 22.1 fantasy points during that stretch. With the 76ers coming to town today, Harkless may improve upon those numbers (although that low of 22.1 fantasy points was against Philly on Wednesday).

PF - Markieff Morris, Phoenix Suns (vs. ATL), $5,700: With the exception of a 23-minute night against the Jazz on Wednesday, Morris has scored 31.6 or more fantasy points in four of his past five games. During that five-game span, Morris has averaged 19.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 block and 1.2 steals. Not only have the Hawks allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing four's over the past 15 days, but Millsap will miss at least one more game as noted earlier.

PF - Amir Johnson, Toronto Raptors (vs. GS), $5,100: Since missing two games before the All-Star break, Johnson has scored at 22 fantasy points in all six games after the break.

C - Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $7,300: Vucevic played only 23 minutes last night, but he finished with his third consecutive double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds). During that span, he has averaged 40.47 fantasy points per game that included 47.6 against the Sixers on Wednesday. Vucevic has now scored at least 30 fantasy points in eight of his past nine games.

C - Kyle O'Quinn, Orlando Magic (vs. PHI), $4,500: Despite playing only 22 minutes last night, O'Quinn also had a double-double (14 points, 15 rebounds) against the Heat. In fact, he hasn't played more than 24 minutes in any of his past four games, but he has scored 24-plus fantasy points in three of those games. In his past four games, he is averaging 9.0 points, 8.25 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.25 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.

Daily Fantasy Basketball (March 1st): DraftStreet Advice

In 2013, FantasyPros invited experts to compete in a daily fantasy football competition in which they tracked the accuracy of the experts.

Of the 59 experts tracked, our three experts within that group all finished in the top third: Sean Beazley (eighth), Dan Yanotchko (16th) and yours truly (17th).

Hopefully you have noticed that I have begun posting daily value plays in FanDuel NBA daily leagues (and you can see my post for tonight's games here).

Going forward, Sean will be provided some thoughts about DraftStreet leagues and here are some of his thoughts for tonight's games on DraftStreet:

Value Play of the Night: Reggie Evans - F - Sacramento - $5,325

Evans' teammate Derrick Williams was the sleeper stud of the night coming in with 41 FP. DeMarcus Cousins is back tonight, which means Williams will go to the bench. In limited minutes, Evans is more valuable than Williams due to his beast rebounding ability. Evans only needs around 15 FP to hit value tonight. I think Evans could be in line for a nice 20-25 point night.

Injury Watch: Will Bynum - G - Detroit - $9,272

Starting PG Brandon Jennings is questionable for the game tonight with a toe injury. If Jennings is able to go, I might back Bynum out of a few GPP's, but I still think he has great value in a game that should be very high scoring. This is the highest total of the night at 217.

Rebound of the Night: Chandler Parsons - F - Houston - $13,248

As mentioned above, this game should be very high scoring. The Rockets are in the bottom quarter of the teams in the NBA vs. small forwards. Parsons has been miserable the last two games combining for a total of 32 FP. I think Parsons has upside of 40 tonight against the Pistons, especially if the Pistons go big with Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith all on the court.

Stud of the Night: John Wall - G -Washington - $19,412

Wall comes at a pretty hefty price tag tonight, but out of all the players 19K and up, he is my favorite. Wall will be licking his chops tonight against the 76ers, who rank dead last against PGs this year. Wall could be in line for a career night. I'm expecting 50 FP from Wall tonight.

Daily Fantasy Basketball (March 1st): FanDuel Bargains

If you play daily fantasy sports (and who doesn't these days?!), you know that one of the keys to success is uncovering undervalued players to allow you to load up on studs elsewhere.

In case you've never played daily fantasy basketball, every player has a salary and your roster cannot exceed the game's salary-cap maximum.

For FanDuel leagues, rosters consist of nine players and the salary cap is $60,000, which averages to roughly $6,667 per player. To give you an idea of the range for Saturday's games, Timberwolves PF Kevin Love ($11,500) has the contest's highest salary while many are tied for the lowest at the game-minimum salary ($3,500).

There are a number of benefits compared to traditional full-season re-draft leagues, such as:

• you don't have to worry about being saddled by players sidelined by injury;
• having a late pick doesn't rule out owning studs like Kevin Durant or LeBron James;
• you get the instant gratification of winning your league(s) that night.

And you know that enthusiasm you have after drafting your fantasy team(s)? Well, you get to experience that feeling on a nightly basis with daily fantasy basketball.

OK, with the preliminary stuff out of the way, here are some value plays to consider for Saturday (March 1st) FanDuel leagues:

PG - Aaron Brooks, Denver Nuggets (at POR), $4,700: There are several top-notch fantasy point guards going tonight like Chris Paul, John Wall, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, etc. With Wall facing the Sixers, the league's friendliest of teams in terms of fantasy points to lead guards, he will be in many of my lineups despite the high salary ($9,100). With Ty Lawson (ribs) still out, Brooks gets the second-most favorable matchup for point guards at a much cheaper cost. In fact, no team has allowed more fantasy points to PGs over the past 15 days.

PG - C.J. Watson, Indiana Pacers (at BOS), $3,500: With George Hill (shoulder) out tonight, Watson will get the start against the Celtics. Per 36 minutes, Watson is averaging 12.1 points, 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals and should be a solid option at the game-minimum salary tonight.

SG - Eric Gordon, New Orleans Pelicans (at LAC), $5,000: With solid performances in back-to-back games, Gordon has averaged 36 minutes, 20 points, three assists and 1.5 steals in those two games. Tonight, he will face his former team, which should give him some extra motivation.

SG - Evan Fournier, Denver Nuggets (at POR), $4,400: With Wilson Chandler out tonight, Fournier will get another start. In 44 minutes on Thursday, Fournier had a disappointing outing: eight points, three boards, five assists and four turnovers. That said, he has two 40-point (in fantasy terms) performances in his past six outings and has a decent amount of upside at a relatively low price.

SF - Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers (vs. DEN), $6,600: Priced at a little below the average salary of the starting lineup, Batum has been productive in his past three outings, which includes a matchup against the Nuggets. He has scored a minimum of 30.7 fantasy points in those three games, but he is averaging 37.97 points during that span. During that three-game stretch, Batum has averaged stat-stuffing line of 19.0 points, 7.33 rebounds, 4.33 assists, 1.67 blocks and 1.0 steals.

SF - Jordan Hamilton, Houston Rockets (vs. DET), $3,700: Hamilton has averaged exactly 24 minutes in his two games with the Rockets and he has scored at least 24 fantasy points in both outings. On the season, the Pistons have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards.

PF - Thaddeus Young, Philadelphia 76ers (vs. WAS), $8,600: While he's far from "cheap" in absolute terms at $8,600, Young has been one of the most productive players recently. Since the All-Star break, Young is averaging 43.25 fantasy points per game and only six players have more during that span. In those four games, Young has averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 boards, 4.0 assists and 3.75 steals per game.

Power forward is a stacked position and it's possible you go stud-stud in those two roster spots with someone like Love, Blake Griffin, Young, etc. Love has more than 60 fantasy points in three of his past four games. The "off" game was 41 points. Meanwhile, Griffin has scored more than 45 fantasy points in eight of his past 10 games and the Pelicans, his matchup tonight, have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season. In many of my leagues, I have a Love-Griffin combo in my starting lineup.

C - Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic (vs. MIA), $7,300: Over his past eight games, Vucevic has scored more than 30 fantasy points seven times. During that eight-game stretch, Vucevic has averaged 17.0 points, 11.25 rebounds, 1.25 blocks and 1.25 steals.

C - Marcin Gortat, Washington Wizards (at PHI), $7,200: With a 31/12 line on Thursday, Gortat extended his streak of games with a double-double and 30-plus fantasy points to six games. The Polish Hammer has averaged 18.83 points, 11.33 rebounds and 1.17 blocks per game during that stretch and he faces the league's worst defense tonight.

C - Timofey Mozgov, Denver Nuggets (at POR), $4,400: While I'd prefer to go with Gortat or Vucevic, Mozgov rounds out my (unintended) trio of Eastern European centers as solid bargains. Over his past two games, he's averaged a respectable 23.9 fantasy points per game.
