Kevin Garnett out for two weeks

The bad news? The Celtics will be without forward Kevin Garnett for a couple of weeks.

The good news? The Celtics will be without forward Kevin Garnett for only a couple of weeks.

The injury that looked as though it could have been to KG's knee turned out to be a strained calf.

"It's a muscle injury, a strained calf," said [team president Danny] Ainge in a radio interview with Boston's WEEI (via NBA FanHouse). "It's actually the softer side of the leg below the knee. It's not anything to do with his knee, which is great news, and it's one of those injuries that he may be out for a couple of weeks at the most. That's my guess. It's always a guess. I'll just say two weeks. I think that's on the conservative side."

Garnett is averaging nearly a double-double this season: 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
