The Detroit Pistons and free-agent forward Josh Smith have agreed to a four-year deal worth $56 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
Smith, who has played all nine of his NBA seasons with the Hawks, averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. In addition, Smith averaged 1.8 blocks and 1.2 steals per game.
Only two players averaged a line of 17/8/4/1/1 per game last season: Smith and LeBron James.
Interestingly enough, Smith made a career-high 61 three-pointers last season while also shooting a career-low 51.7 percent from the free-throw line.
With the addition of Smith, the team's starting front court will likely be Smith, Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, which means Smith will spend a lot of time at small forward.
